Curtiss XP-37 Photo Gallery
The rebuilt Curtiss Model 75 prototype airframe became the Model 751 while retaining the same construction number c/n 11923. Delivered to the US Army, it was designated as the XP-37 with an Allison V-1710-11 engine with a General Electric turbo-supercharger, which proved troublesome. Thirteen YP-37s with an Allison V-1710-21 were ordered with an improved B-2 supercharger for evaluation, but the supercharger still proved troublesome and was likely to catch fire. Except for the Allison engine and the cockpit that moved aft for balance, it was the same airframe as the P-36. It did not go into production and the airframes were relegated to technical training schools.
