Rolls-Royce Thrust Measuring Rig, was unofficially known as the 'Flying Bedstead', for obvious reasons! It was one of the many steps made in the 1950s, towards vertical take-off and landing aircraft. Thankfully, only a few of these test aircraft looked as basic as this!
